금관에 새겨진 무늬를 관찰해 보자

왕족만이 사용할 수 있었던 특별한 상징물, 금관.

금관이 더욱 화려하게 느껴지는 이유 중 하나는 다양한 무늬에 있습니다.

교동 금관을 제외한 대부분의 금관에는 볼록 장식, 물결 무늬, 원점 무늬가 다양하게 새겨져 있습니다.

원점 무늬와 볼록 장식은 금판의 뒷면에서 눌러 앞면이 도드라지게 만드는 압날 기법으로 제작되었습니다.

원점 무늬는 세움 장식의 가장자리에 한 줄 또는 두 줄로 표현되었고, 볼록 장식은 중앙과 곁가지에서 찾아볼 수 있습니다.

물결 무늬는 삼각점으로 새겨졌는데, 금판의 앞면에서 눌러 찍는 축조 기법을 사용했습니다.

Let’s look into the patterns on Silla Gold Crowns

The Gold Crown: a special symbol that only royalty could wear.

One reason the crowns appear even more splendid is the variety of patterns and decorations.

Except for the Gold Crown from Gyo-dong, most Silla Gold Crowns feature embossed designs, wave patterns and dotted patterns.

Dotted patterns and embossed decorations were crafted using the “press-out” technique, where the gold sheet is pressed from the back to make the front stand out. Dotted patterns are expressed as one or two lines along the edges, while embossed decorations can be found in the center and on the side branches of the crown.

Wave patterns are engraved in triangular forms using a “chasing” technique, where the design is pressed from the front of the gold sheet. These patterns can be seen on the Silla Gold Crowns of Hwangnamdaechong, Geumgwanchong, and Seobongchong.
